Triclosan, the FDA allows in your Colgate toothpaste, has been shown to significantly lower children’s IQ if found in the mother’s body at delivery.
Researchers found the developing baby’s brain is most vulnerable to triclosan exposure at delivery, but not at other times in pregnancy and childhood. The baby’s developing brain and nervous system has been found to be negatively effected at delivery from the mother’s exposure.
Triclosan is an anti-microbial compound that the FDA banned in most personal care and household products, except Colgate toothpaste. In experimental animals, triclosan exposure decreases the body’s thyroxine levels and may interfere with other hormonal pathways. During pregnancy thyroid hormone is transferred from the mother to the embryo and used at a critical time for proper brain and nerve development.
Even small deficiencies in this important thyroid hormone at this vulnerable time in the body’s development has been associated with lower IQ scores in children.
With other safe and effective ingredients, such as essential oils and herbs, for toothpastes; Why does the FDA still allow mothers to poison their children and harm developing brains and nervous systems when they are most vulnerable?
Tell your friends, family members and everyone to stop using Colgate toothpaste during pregnancy! Tell them to use safe, effective toothpastes, such as Tooth & Gums or Closys brands and the Loloz lollipops to stop cavities.
